Chain Reaction Mechanic

Blobster Clusterbuster incorporates a chain reaction mechanic where winning symbol clusters vanish from the reels. New symbols then cascade into the empty spaces, potentially creating opportunities for additional winning clusters within the same spin.

Clusterbuster™ Core

The game’s reels include a central, inactive cluster of locked tiles. When clusters form wins alongside the periphery of this core, the adjacent locked tiles are broken. Clearing all these surrounding tiles will open the core and award a prize. At the start of each spin, these activated Clusterbuster™ positions reset, requiring new adjacent wins to unlock them again.

Feature Progression and UFO Activation

Blobster Clusterbuster features a progressive unlock system centred around a 3x3 UFO cluster at the heart of the reels. There are three features; all start locked. Each time a cluster win occurs next to the UFO, a part of it lights up, tracked by three indicators above the reels. Illuminating all sections activates the UFO, unlocking the next feature. The process can repeat as you continue playing at the same stake level.

  • All unlocked features may trigger randomly on subsequent spins.
  • When only one UFO light remains, Blobby (the alien inside the UFO) may randomly complete the sequence, immediately activating the Clusterbuster™.
  • The features unlock in this order: Upgrader > Frenzy > Supersize.

Upgrader

The Upgrader feature is the first of the locked features to be unlocked. After activation, it can trigger randomly on later spins. Blobby energises the UFO to shoot and transform between 8 and 24 non-clustered low-paying symbols into randomly selected high-paying symbols in the main game. During Invader Spins, this increases to between 11 and 31 symbols.

Frenzy

Frenzy is unlocked after progressing through the second indicator. When triggered, Blobby transforms between 5 and 20 symbols on the reels into wild symbols. Wilds substitute for any paying symbol, helping to increase win possibilities.

Supersize

When Supersize unlocks, it can randomly be triggered during subsequent spins. This feature causes Blobby to turn between 2 and 4 random high-paying or wild symbols into Super Symbols, each expanding to cover a 3x3 area on the reels.

Invader Spins

After unlocking all three features, further UFO activations grant 10 Invader Spins. These spins begin immediately upon being awarded. During Invader Spins, the unlocked features trigger more frequently. Wild symbols will only appear as a result of Frenzy activations during this phase.

Global Multiplier Feature

The UFO may be activated up to three times during Invader Spins:

  • First activation awards a global x3 multiplier on all wins.
  • Second activation increases the multiplier to x7.
  • Third activation boosts the multiplier to x12.

The multiplier resets once the bonus round is complete. Each additional activation also provides 3 extra Invader Spins, allowing up to a maximum of 19 free spins during the bonus.
